Eating seafood in north Phu Quoc: How to choose and book
How to choose a seafood meal in north Phu Quoc: See it alive, ask the unit, confirm the price before cooking and plan the drive to Rach Vem.
At Nha Be Khanh Hao, look at the seafood first
At Nha Be Khanh Hao, seafood is bought day by day from Rach Vem fishermen and kept in the pens right under the floor. You look at it, choose how it is cooked, and only then does the kitchen start.
Fresh seafood depends on the season and the day’s catch, so the dish you had in mind may be out or come in a different size. Our staff tell you before taking the order; there is no need to decide in a hurry.
Dishes by the kg? Ask the price first
On the Nha Be Khanh Hao menu, most crab, shrimp, squid, fish and snail dishes are priced by the kg; salads, rice and noodles are per portion. For dishes by the kg, ask the price per kilo and the size, then confirm the weight and price before the kitchen cooks.
- Ask the price per kg and the size
- Confirm the weight before cooking
- Mention allergies or foods to avoid in advance
Rather not pick many dishes? Take the combo
The all-in combo is a five-dish seafood set shared at the table, with rice, iced tea, cold towels and a round-trip speedboat ticket, 650,000 VND per adult, bookable from 2 guests. Larger groups with different tastes may prefer the à la carte menu.
Plan the drive and the speedboat time
Rach Vem is in the north of the island. The drive from Duong Dong to Nha Be Khanh Hao takes about 30 minutes (23.6 km); most of the way is a good road, with the last 2 km on red dirt.
To eat and take the speedboat to the starfish area on the same day, come early: Nha Be Khanh Hao is open 08:00–17:30 and the speedboat runs within its confirmed operating hours. After heavy rain the road in can be slower.
